Tour de Forts Classic 2016
||Come ride with us in the footsteps of history on the 2016 Tour de Forts Classic.
Join us on entirely new routes through St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest permanently occupied European settlement. Ride past the Castillo de San Marcos, dating to 1672 while Florida was still a Spanish colony to Fort Matanzas, built by the Spanish in 1740 to guard the Matanzas River, the back door to St. Augustine. The century riders will go through Picolata on the St. Johns River where a fort was built by the Spanish in 1737. In between the route will take us through farmland, the Gullah Geechee Corridor and on a rail trail constructed on the roadbed of the Florida East Coast Railway.
Registration will open February 1st.
