What is this?
GTM NERR (Guana) has an extensive network of trails amenable to riding any bicycle with at least a 32 mm. or wider tire(hybrid, some road bikes, MTB, or beach cruiser). One can ride about 12 miles from the Roscoe Blvd. trailhead to the 6-mile dam just north of the Gate Station (now Exxon). There are a number of other loops to explore. South of the dam, there is at least one trail that goes out to the intra-coastal. This is a beautiful area to explore on a bike.
Click on the map link and look at it in satellite view to see the trail network.
The trailhead is just off Roscoe. There is a parking lot and toilets.
Typical trail in Guana. Surface is hard packed sand.
Route with one section overgrown by grass to observation tower on Tolomato River: Worth the effort but can be avoided by just staying on hard packed trail.
