Jax Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan
Author Last Post
Bert Shaw, our Advocacy Director, and other Board members have been closely monitoring this process through our membership/attendance at the Jacksonville BPAC.

BPAC meets the first Thursday of the month at 5:30-7:00 PM at the Ed Ball Building downtown. You do not have to be a member of BPAC to attend. It is an open meeting.

NFBC will do its best to have input in the final plan.

I recently listened to presentations by Ian Lockwood from the Toole Design Group at the Bike Florida Share the Road Celebration of Cycling in Clermont. He sounded very knowledgeable. He is the regional director for the Toole Group in Orlando.
Last month, COJ entered into contract with Toole Design Group, LLC as consultant for the Ped/Bike Master Plan. I think it would behoove NFBC to become cognizant of their recommendations so they're in our best interests. Toole Design Group is a Washington Beltway firm and will be gone when we're left with their results, so I hope they will cooperate and coordinate with stakeholders, such as NFBC and North Florida Transportion Planning Organization.

I see this as unique opportunity to make an impact. Perhaps we could enlist the expertise of the League of American Bicyclists and Florida Bicycle Association.
